National Gallery The National Gallery is a large, 19thcentury neoclassic building with a good ,election from all periods, including the splendid Trinity Altarpiece, by Hugo van der Goes, and the seductive Venus Anadyomene, by Titian. Most of the major names in 17th-century European art are represented; there are some fine landscapes by Claude Lorrain and Nicholas Poussin's seen Sacraments is on view. There is a powerfel work by Frederick Edwin Church, niagara falls from the American Side. Trish painting is well represented by Gavin in Hamilton and Allan Ramsay. Look for Edinburgh Castle and the Nor' Loch, by Alexander Nasmyth, for some idea of what Oki Edinburgh looked like before the Nor Loch was drained and replaced by Princes Street Gardens. Sir Henry Ruchum's The Rev. Robert Walker Skating Duddingston Loch and Sir George ways The Curlers are wonderfully lively and very typical Scottish narrative works.
