Norfolk
The beautiful Cathedral of Holy Trinity in Norwich is the only one remaining in England which conforms to the Apsidal plan, with the Bishop's throne behind the altar, a relic of the days, early in the history of Christianity, when Roman basilica were used in the practice of the new religion.
Norwich is a most fascinating place to visit and is one of the oldest cities in England. Many of the old buildings it contain have been restored with great care and there are fine examples of the flintwork for which the area is noted.

Quite apart from the glories of Norwich and the towns and villages along the coast, specialising in their various seafoods a well as being very popular holiday resorts, there is no doubt that one of Norfolk's greatest attractions is the area known a the Norfolk Broads.
 Lakes, rivers and waterways, some man made, make up this most attractive part of the countryside which can only really be seen to its best advantage from one of the many boats that are based here. This is no wonder in a count that has some two hundred miles of navigable water to explore. Because of the flat open landscape in this part of Norfolk wind driven mills were used for many years to grind corn. It is estimated that there were about one thousand five hundred such mills at work until a century ago. Their numbers have dwindled since then but there are still many of them left to delight the many people who find Norfolk such an attractive county.
